The Texas Star Family
Owner - Lee Williamson: lee@texasstarroofing.com
Lee graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Finance, and is a native of Dallas. He started Texas Star Roofing in 1997 after years of experience in the construction industry. There are no licensing requirements for roofing in the state of Texas. The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has established a certification program requiring the qualities you would look for in a roofing contractor, including testing, continuing education, and insurance among other things. Lee is certified for both commercial and residential. He understands that the roofing industry has a less than stellar reputation and looks for every opportunity to set himself and Texas Star Roofing apart from the contractors in the industry that contribute to that reputation. He feels strongly that being a member of trade associations, including North Texas Roofing Contractors Association, and Roofing Contractors Association of Texas adds to the professionalism of his organization. He is proud of the fact that his company has been an A rated, Accredited Business with the Better Business Bureau since 2000. He has aligned himself with the most respected manufacturers within the industry by being selected as a Preferred Contractor with Owens Corning, a Shingle Master Company with Certainteed, and obtaining Shingle Master Applicator Wizard status to boot. His company is also certified with Gerard and an Atlas Signature Select participant. Lee is extremely proud of the reputation his company enjoys in the community including not just his customers, but suppliers and manufacturers who have sought to align themselves with him and Texas Star Roofing.
Lee Williamson Jr., aka Jay Williamson: jay@texasstarroofing.com

My name is Lee Williamson Jr., aka Jay Williamson. I have grown up watching my father start his own business, and have always looked up to him. When he started Texas Star Roofing I was just a kid, but I knew that roofing was what I wanted to do once I was old enough to contribute to his business. I started by passing out flyers for Texas Star Roofing when I was 16. After I graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1998 I started Texas Star Guttering. After a few years in the gutter business my father saw how successful we had become and decided it would better suit the company to have me concentrate on roofing. So, in 2003 after a massive hail storm came through town, I was roofing exclusively. I have been involved in roofing for a long time and seen a lot of different things in this industry. I pride myself on what I've been taught by my father. "If you're going to do something, do it right." When it comes to a being a roofer, I am not just a salesman, I am a roofing contractor. There is a big difference. When a storm hits, it's like all of a sudden everyone is in the roofing business. In fact most of the salesmen you talk to were selling pizzas a week before the storm hit or pushing a lawn mower. I am a CertainTeed Master Shingle Applicator. I have met all of the requirements, and passed their tests to achieve this status. I have done hundreds and hundreds of roofs in the Dallas, Ft. Worth metroplex and in Houston. I know what to anticipate before the job starts. I have extensive knowledge in all major composite shingles, stone coated steel shingles, faux slate, modified bitumen, single ply membranes and standing seam roofing systems. Being a salesmen is easy, being a roofing contractor takes years of commitment to your trade. I make sure everything is addressed before the materials are delivered. I also have extensive knowledge when it comes to the insurance industry. I can maximize your claim to minimize your exposure when it comes to replacing your roof. We are Nationwide Insurance, Blue Ribbon Contractors. This is an honor we are extremely proud of. There are only a handful of roofers who have this accreditation in Texas. The next time your need a roofer I would love to have the opportunity to introduce myself.
